Our approach to social care

We are on a transformational journey and aim to set a new benchmark for the delivery of social care. We’ve listened to what Ceredigion’s children, young people and adults need to be better able to respond to challenges and build resilience. The focus of our Through Age Wellbeing model is to make sure that all citizens have access to a range of health and social care related programmes and interventions, targeting those at greatest risk.

We are moving away from focusing on the individual and their challenges in isolation to take a more holistic approach.

This means strengthening families so that children and young people can safely remain with their family and enabling adults to live independently in their own community.

Crucially, and most importantly, this also means that we are better able to target our support to those at risk of abuse, harm and neglect.

Why join us on our journey?

As a service, our focus is on “resolving problems and not containing them”. For this reason, our teams are supported to take a strength-based approach and work creatively within their practice. If one of our social workers has a new idea for supporting people or improving partner communications, we will always want to hear it. After all, our Through Age Wellbeing model is owned by everyone.

If you came into social work to support people in making positive changes within their own lives, Ceredigion is absolutely the right place for you.

As we continue to develop our services, you’ll never be short of career opportunities, whether that be a move into a senior position or a step into a specialist practice area.

To develop skills and resilience that will last a lifetime and enable individuals to cope well with the challenges and pressures they face.

To achieve our vision, our Through Age Wellbeing social care model focuses on making sure people receive the right support, at the right time, which means:

Join one of our teams

We know that providing support at an early stage can help prevent the need for more specialist services and avert crisis. To achieve this, our Through Age Wellbeing model is structured as four collaborative wellbeing, support and care areas, including:
